Housekeeping Assistant

Hours: 20 hours per week 

Salary: £12.76 per hour + overtime rates + competitive benefits 

As a Housekeeping Assistant with Meallmore, you will play a key role in creating a clean, tidy and welcoming home, making a meaningful difference to the comfort and wellbeing of our residents, visitors, and colleagues.

You will ideally bring experience from a housekeeping or domestic cleaning role, along with a basic understanding of infection control, COSHH, and compliance standards. However, if you’re new to this type of role, full training will be provided.

Role & Responsibilities 

  • Ensuring that our residents' care home facilities, public areas and rooms are maintained to the highest cleaning standards. 
  • Replenish and maintain supplies in both resident rooms and common areas. 
  • Take care of residents’ laundry with attention and care ensuring items are washed, dried, ironed, and put away neatly.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and colleagues to address needs and concerns. 

What we are looking for 

  • Ability to follow instructions and cleaning schedules, report any issues promptly, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Can work effectively independently and as part of a team in a professional and courteous manner.  
  • Takes pride in your work with strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrates a kind, caring, and considerate approach to all within the care home
